Alia Bhatt on Casting Couch in Bollywood: Inform Your Parents First And Then Police
After several stars spoke against the burning issue, Alia Bhatt added her opinion.
The issue of casting couch has taken the world by shock and concern. The word came out in light especially after a lot of cine stars from Hollywood and Bollywood spoke up against in under the #MeToo movement. The recent star to add her bit to this burning issue is Alia Bhatt. During the promotion of her film Raazi, she was asked about this topic and she gave her opinion about the whole thing going on, in the film industries.
The 25-year-old actress said, “All of a sudden the casting couch discussion has become a burning topic. However, I am of the opinion whenever such topics are discussed, the environment turns very negative. People start believing that the industry is bad.”
She further added, “I know and do understand that at times, many boys and girls have to go through bad situations in order to be able to fetch some work. Everyone has to face their own battle of struggle in order to be able to get work in this industry. And during their struggle some people could use the strugglers for their benefit."
The dimpled actress also gave an advice for those who think, have fallen prey to such situation while working in this industry. She said, “They should always believe in themselves. However, if at all they are confronted with this bad moment (casting couch) they need to immediately inform their parents. And thereafter go to the police.” On the work front, she will be next seen in a multi starrer period drama named Kalank. The film stars Madhuri Dixit, Sanjay Dutt, Aditya Roy Kapur, Sonakshi Sinha and Varun Dhawan in the lead too.
