The duo are known to be close to each other's families. Ranbir Kapoor's mother Neetu Kapoor often comments on her pictures over Instagram too. The yesteryear Bollywood actress celebrates her birthday today and so Alia took to wish her on social media.

Rumours have been rife that after Ranbir Kapoor's father who is undergoing his cancer treatment in New York recovers, the couple may then tie the knot.

The couple were recently spotted in New York as they visited Ranbir's parents. Alia even posed for a perfect family picture with Ranbir's parents and sister Riddhima Kapoor. Alia and Ranbir have been busy working on their upcoming project, Brahmastra. This is the first time the couple will be working together on-screen and fans have been eagerly waiting for it. The film also features Amitabh Bachchan, Akkineni Nagarjuna, Dimple Kapadia and Mouni Roy in key roles and is slated to release in Summer 2020.
