Alia Bhatt and Kartik Aaryan in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Film on Gangubai Kothewali?

There has been a lot said about the Sanjay Leela Bhansali's next film projects. After Inshallah got temporarily shelved, there have been innumerable speculations the film's cast. While some say that Inshallah is still on, others emphasize that the director is already planning about the next project which is Gangubai. Gangubai is the same film for which actress Priyanka Chopra was in the news. It was earlier reported that PeeCee would be collaborating with Bhansali for this ambitious project. The film is based on Gangubai Kothewali, the matriarch of Kamathipura. The film is basically churned out from a chapter from Hussain Zaidi’s novel, Mafia Queens of Mumbai.
Recently, Alia reiterated that she would be working with the Padmaavat director, come what may. Meanwhile, Kartik was seen at the Bhansali office recently, which also fuelled the rumours of him being the male lead of this flick. It will be a fresh pairing if the Dear Zindagi actress collaborates with the 'national crush'. Before this happens, Alia will be next seen in Ayan Mukerji directed fantasy film Brahmastra along with Ranbir Kapoor, Amitabh Bachchan and Mouni Roy. She will also be seen in Mahesh Bhatt directed Sadak 2 with Sanjay Dutt, Pooja Bhatt and Aditya Roy Kapur. On the other hand, Kartik is gearing up for Pati Patni Aur Woh Remake and Bhool Bhulaiyya 2.
