Akshay Kumar's movie Singh is Bling which released in 2015 faced objections from the Akali Dal and Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) for some controversial dialogues that apparently hurt the sentiments of the Sikh. However, it has been alleged that Akshay set up a meeting Dera Sacha Sauda head Gurmeet Ram Rahim and Akali Dal chief Sukhbir Badal to get his film cleared. While Akki had denied all such allegations, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) has now said that it is probing the matter. While the actor recorded a statement in November last month, fresh developments have come in after it recorded the statement of former MP Rajdev Singh Khalsa, on December 7, as per a report in Hindustan Times. He was the Malwa president of the Rashtriya Sikh Sangat, a wing of RSS back then in 2015.

“Dera Sirsa chief lived in Akshay’s neighbourhood in Mumbai. Since it faced objection from the Sikh bodies, MSG-2 couldn’t be released in Punjab without getting pardon to the dera chief. Moreover, Sukhbir was eying the dera votes. Akshay has a warm relation with former chief minister Parkash Singh Badal and Sukhbir as he was called several times for the Kabaddi World Cups organised by then Akali government. The self-interest of all of them led to a compromise,” Khalsa told SIT, as per the leading daily.

With this update, there seems to be a fresh spin to the story. Let's wait until more information about it is out.
