Akshay Kumar’s next is a space drama called Mission Mangal. The multi-starrer film has an ensemble cast including Sonakshi Sinha, Vidya Balan, Nithya Menon, Sharman Joshi, Kirti Kulhari, Taapsee Pannu. The first poster of the movie, featuring all these stars has raised the expectations of the fans from the film already. According to Mumbai Mirror, Akki has a full-fledged role in the film, which is an amalgamation of the group of Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) scientists who worked on the Mars Orbiter Mission. A source informed the tabloid, “Akshay’s character puts the team together and drives them to achieve the goal. It’s more of him being a mentor to the young team.”

“The premise is based on true events, but the team has taken some creative liberties for cinematic purposes,” added the source. It is also reported that the team who was considered to be an underdog, is portrayed here on the silver screen through this Jagan Shakti directed flick.

Akshay recently expressed that he was thrilled to be a part of this film and was especially doing it for his daughter and kids her age. He wants the story of the team to reach a wider audience through the film. On the other hand, he is also prepping up for a rather meaty and massy role in Rohit Shetty directorial, Sooryavanshi. The hunk is set to play an ATS officer in this film which also stars Katrina Kaif in the lead. Indeed, all the Khiladi Kumar fans have a lot to look forward to.
