Akshay Kumar is gearing up for his Independence Day release which is Mission Mangal. The film is based on the successful Mars Mission conducted by ISRO. Also, the film coincides with the time period just when ISRO celebrates 50th anniversary of its formation and also a successful Chandrayaan 2 launch. Is this all planned? Akshay Kumar denies so. He has also often been mocked for releasing the films that go hand in hand with the implementations announced by PM Narendra Modi. However, the actor recently clarified that none of it is decided and done and everything is sheer coincidence. Akshay Kumar is Thrilled Over Padman's National Award Win Says 'Couldn’t Be Happier for Tina for Winning This with Her Debut Production'.

During a recent media interaction, Khiladi Kumar spoke on the subject. He was quoted saying, "Modi sir did Swachh Bharat in 2014, Toilet: Ek Prem Katha came in 2017. So, you are wrong. The Chandrayaan project has been in development since 2015 and we started shooting Mission Mangal in December 2018. So, even that is not possible. This is all coincidental."

He further added, "ISRO was established on August 15, 1969 and it is coincidental that our film is releasing on the 50th anniversary of its formation. I got to know about this months ago. About Kesari, it is a film set in 1897 on a real-life event in which we were attacked, we didn't attack anyone. This has got nothing to do with what you're saying."

Well, this answer might just make some of them scratch their head. Nevertheless, the star has given his point of view here, clarifying the confusion. Amid this, there are reports that he will be also seen in a movie based on life of Ajit Doval, National Security Advisor to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Doval was one of the instrumental persons in abolishing of Article 370. However, none of this is confirmed by the actor himself yet.
