Akshay Kumar Reacts to His 'Like' On a Twitter Video Mocking Police Action Against Jamia Millia University Students, Says It Was an Accident - Read Tweet
After a screenshot showing Akshay Kumar's handle liking a video mocking the Jamia Milia students being attacked went viral on social media, the actor has now released a statement clarifying that it was an "accident".
While social media erupted into a debate over the recent protests that took place at Delhi's Jamia Milia Islamia University, a few Bollywood celebs showed their supports towards the students who were protesting the CAA (Citizenship Amendment Act) on Sunday, December 15. Videos showcased Delhi Police using teargas and batons to disperse the crowds and their violent behaviour has been condemned by many on social media. Even as most A-list actors maintained their silence over the issue, it appeared that Akshay Kumar had liked a video that mocked the attack on Jamia Milia students. This created a lot of buzz and after hearing about this, Akshay has now taken to social media to share that it was an accidental like from his handle. The Sooryavanshi star wrote, "Regarding the ‘like’ on the tweet of Jamia Milia students, it was by mistake. I was scrolling and accidentally it must have been pressed and when I realised I immediately unliked it as In no way do I support such acts."

A screenshot showing the actor's handle having liked a video was being shared on social media. A twitter user even shared the same and wrote, "For people requesting Bollywood stars for raising their voice against police brutality on Jamia students. Here is our Hero @akshaykumar who "likes" a tweet mocking brutal attack on Jamia Milia students. He has now unliked it."
