Ajay Devgn and Ranbir Kapoor's Luv Ranjan Movie Shelved for This Reason?

Looks like filmmaker Luv Ranjan will have to deal with the repercussions and ramifications of the #MeToo accusations made against him. According to Rajeev Masand's column in the Open Magazine, Ajay Devgn and Ranbir Kapoor's movie, which was to be helmed by the director, might apparently been shelved. Primarily because of the sexual harassment allegations made against Luv when the #MeToo movement was at its peak in Bollywood. Two women, who refused to reveal their identity, revealed shocking details of the Luv asking them to strip and masturbate in front of him during auditions. Another reason for the film being shelved is that Ajay might have given second thoughts to his character in the film. He was to play Ranbir's father in the film, which has been described as a 'Maqbool-esque' drama where the father and son fall for the same woman, as per Masand. However, Ajay developed cold feet when he learnt about the same and eventually decided to back out of the project. There were also reports stating how Ranbir wanted to get Alia onboard to play the leading lady in the film but the Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety director was keen on having Nushrat Bharucha as the leading lady of the film. As for their other Bollywood projects are concerned, Ranbir is currently busy with Brahmastra, his first movie with girlfriend Alia Bhatt and Ajay is going to be seen in Total Dhamaal next. He also has movies like Tanaaji and De De Pyaar De in his kitty.
