Actresses go through body-shaming to a great extent considering Bollywood's obsession with the typical quintessential type of body required to be a part of the industry. While recently a lot of actresses like Vidya Balan and Neha Dhupia have opened up about body-shaming, the latest to join the bandwagon is none other than Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. We all are well aware how the Fanney Khan actress was slammed on social media back in 2012, when she walked the red carpet at Cannes after delivering a baby.
However, she never let that bother her. Eventually, you do become thick-skinned if you are a public figure because people are constantly looking to pull you down. Talking about the same, Ash, in an interview with DNA said, "There was never a point of self-doubt. I’m so happy in my own life with Aaradhya around and the positivity as well as the clarity that I have in my head about myself. At the end of the day, these are the choices I’m making. Nobody else is dictating or telling me how to be and what to do. Once you find that conviction and that voice within, it’s liberating."
She also asserted how it is important for every individual to be comfortable in their own skin. "There were several hormonal changes within, but it didn’t change anything. And way before all this, whenever people would ask me fashion or trend-based questions, I’d always tell them to be comfortable in their skin. At least now you know I meant it and it wasn’t just for the quote (smiles). I believed it when I said that positivity is so much more than negativity and it can help to ease the crushing impacts of that. Be your best friend and in being so, be brutally honest with yourself. Sometimes, when you are down, you need to reach out to those people who you think can connect with you and comfort you enough." Well, she does have a valid point to make! Don't you think so too?
