AIB Roast Case: No Relief to Arjun Kapoor And Ranveer Singh

Both the actors had filed a petition in the court and sought to quash of the FIR!

The Bombay High Court has not provided any relief to Bollywood actors Arjun Kapoor and Ranveer Singh in the AIB Roast Case. The court rejected the petition of both the actors and set April 3 as the next date of hearing in the case.

Both the actors had filed a petition in the court and sought to quash of the First Information Report (FIR) registered by the Mumbai police against them.

In 2013, the actors were criticised after they used abusive and vulgar language during a live stage show called 'AIB Roast Master'.The actors had urged the court to direct, by way of an interim relief, the Pune and Mumbai police to refrain from taking any coercive action against them.

Reports clearly indicated how The Bombay High Court on Tuesday refused to give any interim relief to both Arjun Singh and Ranveer Singh on an FIR filed against them.  Other Bollywood personalities in 2015, involved in the gig for allegedly using obscene and abusive language during the comedy event ‘AIB Knockout’.

A bench of justices R.M. Savant and Sarang Kotwal directed the actors’ lawyer to first serve a copy of their plea to one of the complainants in the case, activist Santosh Dundkar, it was reported. The actors had urged the court to direct, by way of an interim relief, the Pune and Mumbai police to refrain from taking any coercive action against them.
