Mulk, released last week along with Fanney Khan and Karwaan, had got the best reviews of the three films. The courtroom drama is directed by Anubhav Singha (Tum Bin, Dus, Ra.One) and stars Rishi Kapoor and Taapsee Pannu in the lead, with Prateik Babbar, Manoj Pahwa, Ashutosh Rana, Rajat Kapoor and Neena Gupta in the supporting cast. Mulk has been praised by the critics for its hard-hitting narrative, its explorations of prejudices and bigotry in our society and the terrific performances of Rishi Kapoor and Taapsee Pannu. We ourselves gave a glowing review to Mulk, which you can read here ICYMI.

However, its IMDB page tells a different story altogether. The website uses aggregate user reviews to rate a movie on a scale from 1 to 10, where 1 is the lowest and 10 the highest. On the scale, Mulk currently stands at 3.5 score, which is shockingly low for a movie that got such good reviews.

Even more interesting are the user reviews for the movie. Many of the users have slammed the movie mercilessly, though we are not sure that if any one of them has bothered to watch the film. Also intriguing is that these users have Hindu names.

Ekta Kapoor's TV Serial?

Total piece of junk!

Love the review for pointing out that Prateik is looking chubby (he doesn't)

However, there are other users who have given good reviews, while also wondering why Mulk is getting such a low score.

When Anubhav Sinha got to know of the low rating, this is how he had reacted on Twitter -

Earlier this year, even Veere Di Wedding and Dhadak's IMDB score were targetted by RW supporters and Sairat fans respectively.
