After Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, Shree Narayan Singh to Make a Movie on Verghese Kurien

Ekta Kapoor's Balaji Motion Pictures, has acquired the rights for the book "I Too Had A Dream", which chronicles Kurien's life.

Mumbai, Feb 6: Director Shree Narayan Singh is on board to helm a film on the life of Verghese Kurien, the Father of White Revolution in India. Ekta Kapoor's Balaji Motion Pictures, has acquired the rights for the book "I Too Had A Dream", which chronicles Kurien's life. The "Toilet: Ek Prem Katha" director said the movie will give an insight into the milk revolution, with emphasis on the social entrepreneur's role in empowering, especially women.

"The film will talk about not just making profits and being a huge enterprise but also Dr Kurien's role in empowering general public, especially women, at the grassroots level, Dr Verghese Kurien was a visionary businessman, philanthropist and a great human being," Singh said in a statement.

Kapoor said she was excited to bring another interesting story to the celluloid. "Balaji has always strived to bring interesting stories on screen, and the story of Dr Verghese Kurien is not only engaging but extremely inspiring too. I am delighted to collaborate with Shree Narayan Singh to tell the story of a true visionary," she said.
