If there was nerve damage, I might never recover from this, fears Apurva

Just when the world is steadily waking up to the consequences of ever increasing stress in our day to day life, here comes a notable case from Bollywood that will set the record straight. Apurva Asrani, writer of the film Simran, is experiencing a condition in which one side his of his face is paralysed. Asrani had an infamous spat with Kanagan Ranaut over the writing credits. For more than a year he remained under tremendous stress.

Asrani woke up with one side of his face completely paralysed. The symptomps in such cases make one come to a conclusion that it could be stroke. Mercifully, it was later confirmed that Asrani has Bell's Palsy.  a temporary nerve condition that paralyses one side of the face. "Stress is a major factor and god knows I had more than my share of that in 2017," Asrani maintained.

It is only pertinent to note that Kangy had a verbal spat with him and she claimed that Asrani's  writing was not up to the mark. Kangy then introduced many ingredients into the plot of the film . This stress followed by the rift must have added to Asrani's woes or could possibly have triggered the condition.

"What causes this is still a mystery, but they gather that it could be a viral infection. Stress is a major factor and god knows I had more than my share of that in 2017. This condition is reversible, but it could take weeks, months or even years in some cases. Mine was accompanied by severe vertigo, and I couldn’t stand without falling over.I am certain that in the next few months, there will be significant improvement. But I have to confess that the fear has been indescribable. I have been unable to smile. To shut the right eye. To walk without falling, to eat or even drink water without spillage. " revealed Apurva

We hope that the writer recovers from this mysterious condition soon. "After taking antivirals, steroids and doing weeks of physiotherapy and acupuncture, there was still no thaw. One senior neurologist told me to be prepared that if there was nerve damage, I might never recover from this" feared Apurva.
