2018 looks to be a really lucky year for Shahid Kapoor. He scored his first Rs 300 crore movie in Padmaavat, a movie that also was his first collaboration with director Sanjay Leela Bhansali, as well as with co-stars Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone. He is also slated to appear in Batti Gul Meter Chalu, a satire on the corruption in electricity board that is directed by Shree Narayan Singh, who earlier made Akshay Kumar's Toilet - Ek Prem Katha. Shraddha Kapoor is the leading lady in the movie.

Now we hear is that Shahid Kapoor is also keen to work in Raja Krishna Menon's next. As per a report in a leading daily, a source close to the development told them, “Shahid and Raja have been planning to work together for a while now. They had met after the release of Udta Punjab back in June 2016 and had kept in touch, looking for a project to collaborate on. Both agreed on a script that Raja had been working on."

Raja Krishna Menon himself confirmed the news to the tabloid as he revealed, "Yes Shahid and I are very keen to do our next film together. We have been working on an idea that we are both excited about and it will be a film based on a true story."

Raja Krishna Menon has made his debut as a director with Airlift, that starred Akshay Kumar. It was one of 2016's biggest hits and also won a lot of critical acclaim. His second movie, Chef was an official remake of the Hollywood movie by the same name. It starred Saif Ali Khan in the lead, but failed to work wonders at the box office.
