Poor Akshay Kumar! Whenever the country or the government does something big, the superstar gets dragged into the jokes and memes that follow. Well, that's the side-effects of acting in movies with a nationalist touch. Akshay Kumar, who will be seen next in Mission Mangal based on India's successful space expedition to Mars, was trolled during the Chandrayaan 2 launch. The joke was that Akshay has gotten a new script for his next film. It is not just Chandrayaan 2, whenever the government, whose policies have been vocally admired by the star, comes up with something, Twitterati claims they are merely giving Akshay his new script. Axing of Article 370 Is Monumental Decision Towards National Integration: Arun Jaitley,
Like the recent repeal of Article 370 from the state of Jammu and Kashmir. In a historic decision made on August 5, 2019, Union Minister for Home Affairs, Amit Shah, declared in the Assembly that the section in the constitution that gave J&K special status has now been removed. While the Opposition is crying hoarse over this decision taken without keeping them and the people of Kashmir in the loop, laws are being changed as we write this. Uri Actor Mohit Raina on Article 370 Scrapped in J&K: The Youth Will Not Fall Prey to People With Malicious Intentions.
And amidst all this brouhaha, Twitterati is cracking jokes on how Akshay Kumar has gotten a new script for his next movie. Also, John Abraham, also known for making movies with nationalist fervour, and Vicky Kaushal, whose last film Uri: The Surgical Strike was accused of being propaganda, weren't spared too. Anyway, after Mission Mangal, Akshay Kumar is consciously trying sweer away from films that have a social conscience. He will be seen in Dharma Productions' Good News, that stars Kareena Kapoor, Diljit Dosanjh and Kiara Advani. Then there are masala entertainers like Rohit Shetty's Sooryavanshi, Farhad Samji's Housefull 4 and Bachchan Pandey. Not to forget, the remake of the Tamil horror-comedy, Kanchana, in Laxmmi Bomb.
