A sequel to Mahesh Bhatt's 1991 hit Sadak that featured Sanjay Dutt and Pooja Bhatt in the lead was announced a few months back. Title Sadak 2, Mahesh Bhatt got Aditya Roy Kapur on board who would romance his daughter Alia Bhatt on-screen for the first time. Sadak 2 stars the old players Sanjay Dutt and Pooja Bhatt from the first instalment. It also stars Makarand Deshpande, Jisshu Sengupta, Priyanka Bose and Akshay Anand and Gulshan Grover in supporting roles. Sadak 2 is slated for July 10, 2020 release.

Earlier this year, Anurag Basu announced his next film which is touted to be a black comedy. The United movie was slated for a January 2020 release but now the makers have confirmed a 13 March 2020 release date. Apart from Aditya Roy Kapur, this yet to be titled film stars an ensemble cast of Abhishek Bachchan, Rajkummar Rao, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Sanya Malhotra and Pankaj Tripathi. Aditya Roy Kapur who has worked with Mohit Suri in his biggest hit Aashiqui 2 and Half Girlfriend is reuniting once again for his next. The film is titled Malang which is a revenge drama including a stellar cast. Apart from the birthday boy Aditya, the film also stars Disha Patani, Anil Kapoor and Kunal Kemmu in a major role. In the film, Aditya Roy Kapur is paired with Disha Patani for the very first time. Malang is slated for a 2020 Valentines Day release day.
