Aditya Pancholi has been acquitted in the case of assault, registered in 2015. The actor allegedly assaulted a bouncer at a nightclub. However, The Bandra metropolitan court, on Monday, stated that the actor was not guilty and was acquitted due to the lack of evidence. As reported in DNA, the evidence provided in the span of the last 2 years was not enough to prove that the Bollywood personality was guilty and hence he was set free off the case.
The actor, along with his friend, allegedly assaulted a bouncer at a nightclub in Juhu, using a cell phone. He was reportedly under the heavy influence of alcohol. There was an also a tiff regarding the music played by the DJ along in the club.
The bouncer registered a complaint at Santacruz police station after which he was arrested and given bail with the penalty of Rs 50000. The charges against him under section 324 (voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means) and section 504 (intentional insult) have been dropped.
Meanwhile, his son-actor, Sooraj Pancholi was charged with was charged by the Mumbai Court of abetting late actress and girlfriend Jiah Khan's suicide. Speaking about it, he earlier told HT, “I have lost my 20s in this bargain, but I don’t want to feel like a victim. I don’t want any sympathy. I just want my trial to be fair — whether it goes against me or in my favour. I’ve been shown as a criminal since day one; it’s not a good thing to live with. Four years of my prime have gone in attending court proceedings and nothing has happened. I want my case to end, fairly.” He will be next seen in the film Satellite Shankar which is based on the adventures of a soldier.
