Actress Adah Sharma, who made her Hindi film debut with the 2008 horror drama 1920, gained widespread acclaim and fame with The Kerala Story. Over the years, she has been part of popular films like Hasee Toh Phasee and Commando 2, but it was Sudipto Sen’s directorial that proved to be a game-changer for her. In a recent interview with LatestLY, Adah not only discussed her acting career but also opened up about the casting couch. When asked how prevalent the issue of the casting couch is in the entertainment industry, the 32-year-old actress shared, “As prevalent as it is in the corporate world. But it's more fun for people to read and discuss it when famous actors are involved.” When asked if she has ever faced the casting couch in Bollywood, Adah simply added, “Ouch! I choose to sit on the floor,” she laughed.

The actress also talked about how she handles or navigates uncomfortable situations that may arise during auditions or interactions with industry professionals. Adah stated, “A professional would never put anyone in an uncomfortable situation. If it's a creepy person, then I excuse myself, run at full speed, block numbers, or just ignore the said human depending on the severity of the situation.”

Reflecting on her journey in the film industry, the Bastar: The Naxal Story actress said, “I worked with Sudipto sir and Vipul sir in The Kerala Story. There I played a victim—a sweet, innocent college girl. He then offered me the role of a brave soldier in Bastar. Discussing the most challenging role of her career, Adah Sharma mentioned, “The challenge is in getting the roles. How does one get a great role in a great film without being part of the industry and without socialising? That's the challenge. Once I get the role, it's a joy doing everything in my power to be someone else.”

Sharing details about her upcoming projects, Adah revealed that she will be seen playing a non-human species in one of her projects and is very excited about it.
