Yesteryear child actress from the 1950s has spoken about her childhood trauma. She revealed some shocking details about her being raped at the age of 6. The child actress, popular for her roles in Boot Polish, Naya Daur, Jagte Raho during an interview to Mumbai Mirror came out brave and talked about the sexual abuse in the film industry. The actress revealed that she was raped and then even hit with a belt in the hotel room. She was threatened to be killed if she talked about it to anyone. She can remember the incident as flashing memories but it is indeed traumatic.
The incident took place while she was shooting for the film Hum Panchhi Ek Dal Ke. To quote Daisy, "The man who did this was supposed to be my guardian. He accompanied me to a film shoot in Madras. One night in the hotel room he violated me, hit me with a belt and warned me that he would kill me if I ever told anyone about what had happened." The accused named Nazar is no more but he had strong contacts in the industry back then. The actress appeared on the sets the next day as if nothing had happened. She also said that she did not have the courage to open about it to her mother. Her mother only got to know of the incident when she was 15.
Daisy also spoke about another incident when producer Mallickchand Kochar groped her. She was alone at his studio, he tried to touch her but Daisy back then made it into a hilarious moment by taking out her sponge paddings and handing it to him. The actress did agree that it is tough for child actors to make it into this industry. "Child actors have it tough. In a majority of cases they have been taken advantage of," she said.
Given her experience, Daisy was naturally protective when her sister Honey entered the industry. She was the eldest of the three sisters. The actress was last seen in a supporting role in Farah Khan's Happy New Year in 2014.
