Abhishek Bachchan has delivered some good hits in Bollywood but he remains to be an underachiever. Having a strong support and guidance within the family itself, the junior Bachchan could not use it to his advantage. With Amitabh Bachchan’s defining versatility of roles from the early start of his career to now resorting to only fatherly roles, his son is bound to be heaped with expectations. This very pressure probably led to his underperformance in the later part of his career. In this industry where one has to really struggle to create his identity, Abhishek still remains overshadowed with the Bachchan surname. In a very common occurrence of ‘out of sight, out of mind,’ the actor these days remains in news because of his parody account on micro-networking site Twitter.

This parody account has roughly made it more to the headlines than Abhishek Bachchan himself. The account has been featured for some of the wittiest replies and takes on the real Bachchan son in his life and career in general. The account user has the same profile look like Abhishek, but only lacks the verified blue tick and a change of spelling in the surname. But well, the number of times he has been tagged along by other actors in their Twitter conversations has only made the parody account popular. This parody user smartly replies to all these conversations and it does not take time to go viral.

In most of the recent incidences, NDTV editor happened to reply to the troll account and the troll’s reply got everyone laughing again. Check it out.

But this has continued to happen at other times. Actor Dino Morea received a funny birthday wish from the parody account and Dino decided to play along. But infact, Dino’s reply became a butt of new jokes from Twitterati.

Actress Tara Sharma too tagged the parody account thanking him for Aaradhya’s birthday party. The parody account again replied in the same witty manner. What’s worse is Tara did the same mistake twice to which the parody account replied, “Thanks Tara ! We too had a great time. Next time pls drink less so that u know which handle to tag in your tweets. This is the 2nd time now.” So by now, we know how witty and sarcastic he can get at the same time.

Such things come to light more when it is actors doing it, unknowingly of course. If actors can get so easily confused, it is very likely that normal people and ardent fans keep tagging the parody account and it has happened so many times over. Once an IIM student invited the actor for speaking at a business conclave.

The thing to notice here is, how this parody account is proving the point of Junior Bachchan’s lost identity. The actor has no doubts done some great movies- Bunty aur Babli, Guru, Sarkar 2 or Paa or just initial Jai Dixit from Dhoom, these roles have seen Abhishek Bachchan’s career mark tipping up. But what is the actor doing currently? He keeps acting in big budget films, chooses multi-starrers and ends up losing in the plot, in the larger picture, his identity as an actor. Abhishek Bachchan has scope In the upcoming year, the actor has four films- Ram Gopal Verma’s Arrest, Prabhu Deva’s collaboration Lefty, Priyadarshan’s tentatively titled Bachchan Singh and one untitled film by Ronnie Screwvala.

While Abhishek Bachchan has many times in the past accepted that he is nowhere in close comparison to his father, the tag of his surname will always be in high respect. But we wonder and hope, if these screen appearances will help the actor to get back his identity.
