Singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya sure gave us a lot of beautiful songs but he also gave us a few controversies to look into. The recent one is that he got booked for verbally abusing a lady in his society during an argument over the phone. The woman filed a complaint against him for allegedly outraging her modesty and using derogatory remarks, say latest media reports. Post this complaint, the police filed a First Information Report (FIR) under section 509 (Word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) and 506 (Criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

A police officer told Hindustan Times, " The woman had an argument with the singer over some drilling work being done in the society. She claims that she was abused by him. We have registered a case and will be investigating the case further."

On the other hand, the Dhadkan singer told his side of the story saying, "She has been threatening me and others to extort money. I have given a commercial place on rent. My tenants were getting some work done, and she objected to it. Being the owner of the place, I intervened in it." He also further added that the woman who complained against him herself has done an illegal construction on the second floor.

Earlier too, the singer grabbed the headlines with the similar controversies. He was booked for allegedly molesting and abusing a woman at a Durga Puja Pandal in 2015. Also in 2016, he was booked for abusing a lady on Twitter.
