The debate on nepotism in Bollywood has been going on since quite some time now. There have been many star kids who have had to deal with the questions on nepotism. The young diva who was subjected to nepotism recently was none other than Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s niece Sharmin Segal, who is all set to make her Bollywood debut with Malaal. And look who has voiced her thoughts on nepotism, Aamir Khan’s wife Kiran Rao. Kiran Rao is known to be vocal on social issues and nepotism is a grave matter. In an interview with a leading daily, Kiran spoke extensively about this much-debated issue. When 45-year-old was asked about nepotism in Bollywood she told Hindustan Times, “Nepotism exists in every part of the society. But we all believe that people also need to be good at their jobs, whether related to someone or not. Of course, we will always want to make our children achieve what they want to and if that is called nepotism, then it is. There have been many other actors who have spoken about nepotism and it includes Sonam Kapoor, Aditya Seal, Ankita Lokhande, Sara Ali Khan, Meghna Gulzar, Raveena Tandom, and more. Whether this topic will ever come to an end or not is not known, but Kiran Rao has definitely made a valid point – ‘only merit will speak’.
