Aamir Khan is entertaining the idea of creating The Mahabharata on the big screen. A little birdie has chirped to us that Rs 1000 crore budget has been sanctioned by none other than Mukesh Ambani for this ultra ambitious project. This bit of info was enough to get our ever-fertile grey matter tickled. We quickly jumped on the proverbial casting couch to come up with our list of who should play which character from the epic saga! Take a look!
Amitabh Bachchan as Bhishma Pitamaha: The grandest daddy of Mahabharata, blessed with unmatched prowess of words, wisdom and will matches the persona and the personality of Big B, period!
Rajinikanth as Drona: Rajini Sarr with all his mastery and his larger than life persona should play the greatest teacher of Mahabharta. There is no replacement on offer for that role, and we are sure this master will look cool flipping his bow in the air at the flick of his finger only to leave his fellow disciple shell-shocked!
Ranbir Kapoor as Arjuna: Kapoor with his suave and deceptively goodie boy charm will be a fine choice to play the morally correct and pious Arjuna. After all,Ranboo is good at that--posturing, we mean!
Ranveer Singh as Duryodhana: His portrayal of Khilji in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmavat has landed him this part straightaway. Singh is flamboyant, impulsive and has the much needed mean streak in him to play the ultimate villain.
Deepika Padukone as Draupadi: Her tall frame, sculpted neck and welcoming persona make Deepika an ideal candidate for the part. She is the least scandalous and also stays away from controversies which adds to her portfolio to play Panchali. There's a huge plus here--she will be seen romancing Ranbir (Arjuna) and will be unwrapped (read: Vastraharan), as dictated by Ranveer (Duryodhana).
Rana Daggubati/Nikitin Dheer as Bheema: Whoever said size does matter in the bedroom alone is being delusional. Size does matter in the battlefield too! Either of the two man-mountains fits the bill!
Akshay Kumar/Shah Rukh Khan/ Salman Khan as Krishna: For the iconic character of Krishna you need someone who can lead from the front with his super starry aura. SRK has wit, wisdom and smarts. Salman is the demi-god of sorts of the silverscreen and Akshay Kumar has that mischievous streak to play the part ( Rasleela, that is)!
Aamir Khan as Shakuni Mama: Shakuni plans, plots, thinks, overthinks, analyses every move, studies his next strategy and executes everything to perfection. All these traits spell only one name--Mr Perfectionist!
Now you can put your thinking cap on and probably come up with your cast for the epic battle ever portrayed on the big screen, We sincerely believe Aamir needs your creative inputs too, people. Go forth!
