Aamir Khan is currently working on Laal Singh Chadda, a remake of Tom Hanks' Forrest Gump. The film is all set to hit the screens on Christmas 2020 and there are chances that it may clash with Karan Johar's multi-starrer, Takht. While Aamir took his own sweet little time to announce this remake, there were reports of him signing Gulshan Kumar biopic, Mogul. Apparently, the actor was very impressed with its script and wanted to co-produce it with Bhushan Kumar. He was on a lookout for a suitable face who would justify the role of this music baron but things went downhill very soon. After Mogul's director, Subhash Kapoor was accused of sexual misconduct, the Dangal star decided to distance himself from this biopic. However, things are back on track and the pre-production work will soon begin on it. Bhushan Kumar in his recent interview with Indian Express confirmed the big news about Aamir still being a part of his dream project as a co-producer. Though he refused to divulge any more details, he said, “I can’t say anything about it right now. Now, I am very comfortable about it because I know the film is happening and with the best person who looks (laughs) like my father. There is no ambiguity in that. So, I am very happy about that.”
Earlier Akshay Kumar was announced as the lead in this biopic. However, some differences between him and the production house led to his exit and the makers were since then busy finding the right lead for it. Ask him when the movie will go on floors and he said, “It’s an important and an emotional film for us and that is why it is taking time. We want to make it the best. I am not in a hurry for it because it is not a commercial film for me. Whatever comes, I will have to donate it. That is our family’s thought process since the beginning. We will be announcing the actor very soon. That actor definitely needs seven-eight months to adapt to it. The film will start somewhere in 2020."
