The #MeToo movement has finally compelled the B-town to take matter seriously and hear the voices out. After Tanushree Dutta made sexual harassment allegations on actor Nana Patekar, the movement gained momentum. Several other bollywood celebs have been accused as sexual predators and this is also affecting shows. Also, the movie makers are now forced to focus on other ethics at workplace. To discuss about these regular work ethics, filmmakers Ritesh Sidhwani, Rajkumar Hirani, Siddharth Roy Kapur, Aanand L Rai, Mahaveer Jain and Aamir Khan recently met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi.
There was a buzz that the raging #metoo movement in Bollywood as well as in other industries was the reason for this meet primarily. However, a source told cinemaexpress that the meet up is to discuss about the day to day issues faced by artists in the industry. The source further added, "It was a collaborative effort of all the people involved to come forward and seek solutions from the Prime Minister directly and address these issues." #MeToo Movement Allegations Are Affecting Non-Accused More Than The Accused Alone! We Need a More Responsible and Independent Action on The Culprit.
With so many eminent personalities of Bollywood being accused by women of sexual misconduct at workplace , this issue cannot be ideally ignored. Aamir Khan earlier also issued a statement saying that his 'Aamir Khan Production' won't work with the accused people in this movement. Although, there is no news on what was the conclusion at the meet, we hope for better solutions for the industry people's safety henceforth. Stay tuned, stay updated.
