The Gulshan Kumar biopic has been in the news for quite some time. The late music baron, who was killed by underworld in 1997, was one of the powerful personalities in Bollywood in the '90s and used to rule the music business in the era. That's why his son, producer Bhushan Kumar, who is the current honcho of T-Series, wants to make a film on the man who made the music label into a force to reckon with.

Earlier Akshay Kumar was supposed to play the lead in the movie, that was to be directed by Subhash Kapoor of Jolly LLB fame. However, the actor had backed out since then, after there was some creative difference between him and the team. With his exit, Aamir Khan came on board, not as an actor though, but as a producer. Now the latest development in the project is that even though the leading man is not officially confirmed, the release date has been fixed. The movie is coming out in Christmas 2019.

Going by the above tweet, it is also not confirmed that the movie will be called Mogul, as it was earlier titled. Earlier reports suggest that Bhushan Kumar wanted it to be made on the lines of the TV series, Empire, starring Terence Howard, with a lot of scope for music.

We are more interested now in knowing if Aamir Khan would go for the lead role or will they would go for a different star to play Gulshan Kumar.
