It is time for the citizens of India to exercise the power of democracy. The country is currently going through the whirlwind of general elections 2019. While the political parties have entered the battle of power, the common folks are divided according to their favoured political parties. Along with the common men, celebrities are also raising their opinions and taking part in the voting procedure. Many Bollywood celebs, including Shah Rukh Khan, Akshay Kumar, among others, have called out their fans and asked them to use their right to vote, in order to put democracy in place. The official handle of Election Commission of India shared a video of Aamir Khan, asking the citizens of India to vote. He takes an oath, and also appeals to the people, to choose our own government by using the power of democracy. The video is shared with a caption that reads, “Straight from the mouth of Mr. Perfectionist! @aamir_khan, #ECI National Icon makes a passionate appeal to all Indians to #GoVote because every vote counts in democracy #MyVoteMatters #PledgedtoVote #LokSabhaElections2019 #GotInked”

Aamir, in the video, says, “World’s largest democracy, one more time, will choose a new government for itself. Every citizen will get the opportunity to become a part of this process. We often forget that in order to deliver this right to vote to us, our ancestors had sacrificed a lot. So, let’s remember them and take an oath that we will definitely cast our vote. For our country, we will fulfil our important responsibility. Jai Hind.”

On the work front, the actor was last seen in the multi starrer Thugs of Hindostan. Also starring Amitabh Bachchan and Fatima Sana Shaikh, the film garnered mixed reviews and failed to impress the audiences and critics alike. Aamir will next be seen in the remake of Tom Hanks’ Forrest Gump titled Lal Singh Chadda.
