Aamir Khan and YRF want to ensure their next outing, Thugs of Hindostan creates havoc at the box office. And defeat Ranbir Kapoor's Sanju at the same time. The movie is Bollywood's big release during Diwali and it is expected to fetch business like never before. If early estimates are to be believed, the film is likely to earn Rs 50 crore on its opening day, a remarkable feat that's never achieved before. While its trailer received a lukewarm response from the audiences and its VFX were criticised badly, seems like the team wants to adopt a different business strategy to maximise its earnings. According to Bollywood Hungama, they are in possession of a mail sent by YRF’s distribution team to the exhibitors across the country. In the mail, YRF's distribution team has commanded the exhibitors to price the tickets for Thugs of Hindostan “at least” 10 per cent higher than that of Sanju. This Rajkumar Hirani directorial earned over Rs 342 crore at the box-office and Aamir definitely wants to break that record. The mail from YRF to exhibitors reads “Please ensure all cinemas increase rates charged for Sanju by a minimum of 10% for the extended 4day weekend. On weekdays, the rates must be dropped by 25% from the weekend rate. Please e-mail us the rates charged by you at all your cinemas for Sanju and proposed rates of Thugs of Hindostan for the extended 4-days weekend and weekdays. It is mandatory that all cinemas should confirm the rates & show timings with our office before commencing the advance booking.” Of course, ticket rates are expected to rise during festivals but YRF wants to ensure they go a step ahead. Their goal is to reap maximum benefits and also BEAT Ranbir Kapoor's Sanju to be the highest earning movie of this year so far. Well, all we can hope is the movie to be worth it in the end.
