It's almost unbelievable that AR Rahman could also go wrong. The Academy Award-winning music composer has given us all some of the most cherishable song that we can listen to on loop all our life. But his latest song from 2.0 is not the one to fall into this category. The latest song from the upcoming Shankar film is out. Titled Tu Hi Re, the song aims to be a dance number featuring lead pair Rajinikanth and Amy Jackson. But we doubt anyone would want to shake their legs to this one. 2.0: Aishwarya Rai Bachchan to Have a Cameo in the Rajinikanth-Akshay Kumar Starrer But There's a Twist.

Tu Hi Re is essentially a techno number given a Bollywood touch by AR Rahman. Once again, there is absolutely no doubting his talent, but this song sounds like a miss. It is is the 2.0 equivalent of the Robot song Naina Miley, in which Rajini and Aishwarya danced like robos. Here Amy and Rajini are doing the same. Credit where it is due, the music video is lit. You can watch it because of how trippy it is in a good way. Lyrics of Tu Hi Re are also not impactful but seem to be trying too hard to be cool. The man to blame here is Abbas Tyrewala. The song has been crooned by Armaan Malik and Shashaa Tirupati, who have done a good job at pulling off whatever they have been asked to.
The final verdict on the song is that we are not a fan of it. We'd rather stick to listening to AR Rahman's Tu Hi Re from the movie Bombay. We'd recommend that '90s melody over this 2018 one, any given day.
