LatestLY's film critic Sreeju Sudhakaran gave the film a two-and-a-half-star rating. He said, "In 2.0's own slang, the film has a very good firmware and a dazzling body, but loses battery rapidly and shuts off frequently. While I am in awe at the movie's ambitions and congratulate the team for nearly pulling it off, I just wish that beautiful canvas had a Mona Lisa to show off!"
Helmed by Shankar, 2.0 is the sequel to 2010 blockbuster Enthiran, in which Rajinikanth reprises his roles of scientist Dr Vaseegaran and his creation robot Chitti while Akshay Kumar, who made his Kollywood debut with this film, joins the cast as villainous ornithologist Dr Richards. The film also stars Amy Jackson in the lead role. Watch this space for further updates.
