2.0 Box Office Colletion in China: Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar's Film Earns $2.47 Million in Opening Weekend

Rajnikanth and Akshay Kumar starrer sci-fi action flick 2.0 opened in China on Friday. The movie bagged the most number of advance bookings in the country of all the movies releasing with it. As the first weekend comes to a close, the box-office numbers from China have come out. 2.0 was able to earn $2.47 million in China after the first Friday, Saturday and Sunday.  It is approximately Rs 17.70 crores. On day 1, the movie raked in $1.37 million, followed by $0.72 million and $0.39 million in the next two days. 2.0 opened in nearly 48,000 screens in China. As per a report by IBT, the movie's word-of-mouth is failing it in the country. Certain trade experts have expressed that the Rajinikanth starrer is a disaster in the country. "In 2.0's own slang, the film has a very good firmware and a dazzling body, but loses battery rapidly and shuts off frequently. While I am in awe at the movie's ambitions and congratulate the team for nearly pulling it off, I just wish that beautiful canvas had a Mona Lisa to show off," our in-house film critic, Sreeju Sudhakaran wrote in his review of the movie in November, when it released in India.
