In 2004, Shah Rukh Khan's production house, Red Chillies, delivered one of their bigger hits with a complete masala entertainer, Main Hoon Na. The movie was the directorial debut of choreographer Farah Khan. The movie also starred Kirron Kher, Sushmita Sen, Zayed Khan, Amrita Rao, Suneil Shetty, Boman Irani and Naseeruddin Shah. Even the controversial actress Rakhi Sawant had a role in the movie. The movie was quite praised for balancing humour, emotions, and action scenes, while paying homages to yesteryear classics like Sholay, Yaadon Ki Baarat, Masoom etc.
Today, the movie has completed 14 years and the stars of the film have taken to Twitter to reminisce about working on this film. Boman Irani, who played the absent-minded professor, has tweeted out, "14 long years, endless memories, one beautiful journey. Lots and lots of Love @iamsrk, my dearest Farracles @TheFarahKhan, @SunielVShetty, @thesushmitasen and the entire #MainHoonNa team. #14YearsOfMainHoonNa". To which Shah Rukh Khan replied,
How much fun we all had doing this. Only @TheFarahKhan could have managed fun and success in such a huge dose. https://t.co/wMH1hmybl8

Well, the fun was also evident for the viewers too, who find this as one of SRK's more enjoyable movies. On the occasion of Main Hoon Na completing 14 years, here are some 14 trivia you might not be aware of the movie. Like did you know that it has a Tamil remake?
#1 Did you know Tabu had an uncredited appearance in the movie? She has a split-second appearance as either a teacher or a student, who is stunned with SRK's dance moves when he rehearses for the prom.
#2 Naseeruddin Shah's track is a homage to one of his earlier movies, Masoom, where he plays a family man who realises he has a love child from an extra-marital affair.
#3 Farah has actually approached Naseeruddin Shah to play the villain, but Shah was committed to his Hollywood movie, The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, and didn't have dates to spare. So he agreed to play the cameo of Shah Rukh Khan and Zayed Khan's father.
#4 After Naseeruddin Shah passed the villain's role, Kamal Haasan and Nana Patekar were also approached for the role before it fell on Suneil Shetty's lap.
#5 Shah Rukh Khan didn't like the title much, as he felt that it sounded incomplete. However when Farah Khan made him hear the title track, only then SRK was convinced the title was apt.
#6 Rani Mukerji was to have a cameo in one of the songs which didn't happen. But she did make her presence in the movie, when you can see her pictures in the background when Satish Shah is speaking to his lover in a phone booth.
#7 Shah Rukh Khan's first scene was a stunt where he had to walk on a wall. It was kept as a secret from Farah Khan, because she didn't want him to do it on his own and threatened to tell his wife, Gauri. SRK was recuperating from his back injury then.
#8 Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was one of the earlier choices for Sushmita Sen's roles. However, thanks to SRK's fallout with the actress, after he replaced her with Rani Mukerji in Chalte Chalte (thanks to the interference of a certain Mr Salman Khan), that casting never happened.
#9 Farhan Akhtar, Sohail Khan and Hrithik Roshan were considered for Lucky's role, which was later played by Zayed Khan.
#10 Geeta Kapoor, who is known being the judge in popular dance shows like Dance India Dance, was seen as one of the girls in the prom.
#11 If SRK didn't like Main Hoon Na as the title initially, we wonder what he thought of "The Outsider" which was one of its earlier titles?
#12 Main Hoon Na has later been remade into Tamil as Aegan, with Ajith Kumar and Nayanthara playing the lead roles. Ajith had a negative role in Shah Rukh Khan's earlier production, Asoka.
#13 Farah Khan wanted to recreate late RD Burman's music as the score for the film, but the failure of Dil Vil Pyar Vyar made her rethink the strategy and opt for Anu Malik's original music. However, she did use some of Burman's songs in the background score, and also when SRK sings Ek Ladki Ko Dekha (from 1942 A Love Story) to Sushmita Sen.
#14 Main Hoon Na was supposed to be the debut of both Zayed Khan and Amrita Rao, before SRK's back injury pushed the schedule. Zayed Khan later made his debut with Chura Liya Hai Tumne and Amrita Rao with Ab Ke Baras.
