Audra McDonald Who Was Snapped in the Nude Mid-Performance During Clair De Lune Calls Out Sneaky Photographer on Twitter

Six-time Tony Award winner, Audra Mcdonald tweeted after a show at the Broadhurst Theatre in Midtown Manhattan, expressing discomfort over someone’s flash going off during a scene of the show. She said it was “not cool” for someone to take a photo during the nude scene. Many broadway theatres ask the audience to put their phones in a lockable bags before entering the arena.

Audra Mcdonald has spoken up against someone taking pictures of her during a nude scene in her broadway show. The actress is working in the Clair de Lune, a new production of Frankie and Johnny, which opened in May this year. The six-time Tony Award winner tweeted after a show at the Broadhurst Theatre in Midtown Manhattan, expressing discomfort over someone’s flash going off during a scene of the show. Just like most theatres, the Broadhurst Theatre does not permit for the audience to take pictures of the actors or stage during an ongoing show. However, this did not get through a viewer who came to watch Audra Mcdonald starrer Clair de Lune. Audra gave an interview to The New York Times before the show and talked about how nervous she was for the show. “Maybe strippers get real used to it”, said Mcdonald, “but for me, there’s nothing normal about that. So there’s nowhere in my mind that I can drift off and let this just kind of happen because everything about it is demanding you to be present.”. Many celebrities ask broadway theatres to provide the audience with lockable pouches to put their phones in before entering the arena. Comedians demand this as it could sabotage their ticket sales for future shows.
