The internet and the entertainment media has been talking about Anurag Basu's nex for the longest time. The movie, with a brilliant ensemble cast, was rumoured to be Anurag's followup to his hit anthology film, Life in a Metro. But more recent reports suggest that this new film, while is an anthology, it's genre is not drama but action-comedy. Thus, very clearly this cannot be a sequel to Metro. The makers are yet to reveal the title of the new film, but the release date has been announced today. The movie will open in theatres on  January 24, 2020. Is it just us or all the good projects in Bollywood are releasing next year?

Anurag Basu's film brings together a stellar cast that includes, Abhishek Bachchan, Aditya Roy Kapur, Rajkumar Rao, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Sanya Malhotra and Pankaj Tripathi. The movie is being co-produced by Bhushan Kumar, Divya Khosla Kumar, Anurag Basu, Tani Somarita Basu and Krishan Kumar. We are eagerly waiting for more details from the film to drop. Also, the humour in the film might not be for everyone since it falls more into the dark comedy zone. "It’s my pleasure to be working with Bhushan for my next that is a dark comic anthology," Anurag had said in January.

The movie was initially slated to release on September 6, 2019. But the movie release calendar is like a domino set to precision. One film tumbles and all the other scheduled release suffer the consequences as well. There is no official word on why the makers of Anurag Basu's film decided to kill the initial release date.
