In a report in Mumbai Mirror, a person called Amit Gill has been implicated in a molestation case. He had been accused of allegedly molesting an airhostess, by sedating her drinks and later taking nude pictures of hers. The report mentions that he has been threatening the girl by using these pictures to blackmail her. An FIR has been filed against the man on March 29, and the man has been arrested. The reason why this particular case got an extra edge was that he was said to be the brother-in-law of actor Arjun Rampal. Technically, that is untrue.
Well, truth to be told, he was married to Arjun's sister Komal but their marriage ended seven years back. So Arjun Rampal put out a tweet pleading the media to not drag his name in the case, as Gill is no longer his brother-in-law.
He wrote, "Today, my sisters and my name appeared in an article. This has surprised us. For the record,Mr. Amit Gill WAS married to my sister Komal and they SEPARATED 7 years ago. We would appreciate it if media would abstain from mentioning our names in this matter. Thank you." Well, what Rampal says do makes sense. So can we say he is the former brother-in-law?

Going back to the case, this is what had happened - according to India Today, the victim had revealed that a common friend introduced her to Gill in a 5 star hotel. A senior police officer from Santacruz police station where the FIR was filed revealed to the publication, "The victim said that she was shocked to find out that those were her nude pictures. She suspects that when the victim had been to the accused's residence, he spiked her drinks and she lost conscience after which he molested her and shot her pictures."
Gill has been charged under sections 328, (causing hurt by means of poison), 354 (sexual harassment), 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code. He was also earlier accused of allegedly betting money on the recently concluded India vs Sri Lanka cricket series. He was suspected to have placed bets to the tune of Rs 15 lakh on the cricket series.
