Well-known South Indian actress Amala Paul had filed a complaint of sexual harassment against a businessman named Alagesan. The actress had reported a man used vulgar language and even made sexual advances at her while she was rehearsing for an event. She has now given out more details about her harasser and what she had to face. Her team had locked the man inside after which she went to complain to the police. The police had ordered a probe and now Amala has some shocking details that he belonged to a sex racket.
The man even tried to run when Amala’s team confronted him and was very casual that she could’ve just refused to his advances if she was not interested. “I realised he is a member of an organised sex racket as he has my latest number stored in his phone, and had all the information related to me and other actresses performing in the event,” she said in a statement. After Amala’s complaint, the police had booked a case against the 40-year-old man under Sections 354A (Sexual harassment), 509 (Uttering any word or making any gesture intended to insult the modesty of a woman) of the Indian Penal Code and Section 4 of the Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Harassment of Women Act. He was arrested and remanded to Puzhal prison in judicial custody.
The police have gathered various evidence of a sex racket and arrested two more people in the connection. Paul wants these names to come into public. Her statement mentions, "Few more arrest warrants are underway for other suspects too. But I still request them to expedite their investigation and make all the names who are involved in this racket public." Amala said that Alagesan dealt and spoke with her like it was any other business conversation. He wanted to hear her positive answer for a special dinner in Malaysia after their event. Further investigation about the involvement of others in the case is ongoing.
