It happens so many times that a filmmaker writes a script keeping in mind a specific actor, but then things don't work out, and they have to make the movie with another actor. Something like this has happened recently with Sajid Nadiadwala's upcoming production venture, LOL: Land Of Lungi. It was earlier reported that Akshay Kumar will play the lead role in the film. However, as per recent development, Akshay is not a part of this project anymore, and Vicky Kaushal should thank him as the film has landed in his kitty.
According to a report in Pinkvilla, Akshay and Sajid discussed this film and they were very keen to collaborate, but Akshay's busy schedule doesn't allow him to come on board for this one. "Akshay Kumar and Sajid Nadiadwala have discussed the film and they were keen on doing it together. But now, Akshay won't be a part of the project anymore. He has already allotted his dates to a few other projects like Sooryavanshi, Laxmmi Bomb and The End. So, Akshay suggested his good friend Sajid to go ahead and make LOL with someone else," a source reveals to the entertainment portal. Vicky Kaushal And Bhumi Pednekar's Upcoming Horror Film Produced By Karan Johar Might Just Be Set on A Ship.
And how did the part went to Vicky then? Well, the report further reads that Vicky had met the director of the film and expressed his interest after he got a narration before. It's not that Vicky doesn't have a lot of films too. He has the Sardar Udham Singh biopic, which will be shot for a year. Then there is Karan Johar's next directorial venture, Takht. Not to forget, the first film in Dharma Productions' horror franchise in which he stars with Bhumi Pednekar. But Vicky has worked out his dates to be a part of LOL: Land Of Lungi.
Another update on the film is that the makers are looking for a female lead. This film will be a new space for Vicky as well as it's a masala comedy entertainer. How happy are you with this casting change? Let us know by tweeting to us @LatestLY.
