He is barely a couple of films old. Both his movies Pyar Ka Punchnama and Sonu Ke Teetu Ki Sweety have been surprise successes, but they surely haven't been the magnum opus of sorts or have set the cash register clinking like say a Baahubali or a Sanju. And yet, Kartik Aaryan fails to have a reality check. He is popular. There' no doubt about tha.! Yes, his success is noteworthy. But that doesn't mean that he should start acting like an A-lister already.

We surely live in strange times. Thanks to the viral nature of social media and its reach, people become starts overnight. Their longevity is determined by their versatility and dedication. Kartik Aaryan has tasted success super fast, but we certainly can't claim that he is the next Ranveer Singh. But the young and restless dude is already an A-lister in his head, claim sources. Perhaps that attitude did cost him a film with Karan Johar, reports suggest.

According to a leading daily, Kartik was offered the role of the second lead in a Karan Johar film along with Akshay Kumar. He apparently lost out on the golden opportunity thanks to the overexcitement of his PR team. It is reported that Dharma productions were entertaining the possibility of casting Kartik in the film but nothing was finalised. But Kartik's PR machinery planted news that Kartik has signed a Karan Johar film and he will be paired opposite Kareena Kapoor Khan. This has apparently costed Kartik the offer.

It also observed that Kartik who was absolutely nobody, not many moons ago, has been acting pricey. From the media interactions and from the reactions he gives to his fans these days, it is quite clear that the young lad is acting pricey. The insiders also claim that the production houses are not happy with the fact that Kartik is demanding far more hefty sums than what his portfolio deserves. Has success gone straight to his head or Kartik can measure his moves and knows exactly what his worth is, only time will tell.

Kartik will be starring in Laxman Utekar’s Luka Chuppi opposite Kriti Sanon and he has also replaced Sidharth Malhotra in the Hindi remake of Kannada film Kirik Party. His critics are waiting to see if Kartik is just a flash in the pan or has he got enough versatility in him to last long?
