About All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam
All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagan (AIADMK) is a political party which was formed after a breakaway from Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK). AIADMK is a Tamil Nadu based outfit, which is currently in power with its leader E.K. Palaniswami being the Chief Minister.
The AIADMK party was formed by a famous Tamil film star, MG Ramachandran, also fondly known as MGR, on October 17, 1972. After his demise, Jayalalithaa was appointed his successor. She held the reigns of AIADMK from 1989 till her death in 2016! Since then, a lot has a lot of drama has unfolded in the party ranks.
With all said and done, AIADMK is still the third largest party in the Lok Sabha, only behind the BJP and the Congress!
