Volkswagen Taigun, Virtus Onam Editions Launched in India; Check Price, Features & Specifications
Volkswagen India has launched Onam editions of the Taigun mid-size SUV and Virtus mid-size sedan that are exclusive to the state of Kerala, which will be limited to 100 units each.
Mumbai, August 10: Just ahead of the Onam festival, Volkswagen India has launched Onam editions of the Taigun mid-size SUV and Virtus mid-size sedan. Limited to 100 units each, both variants will be exclusive to Kerala state. While the special edition of the mid-size SUV is based on the higher-spec GT Line, the mid-size sedan Virtus is made on the Highline variant. As far as prices are concerned, both the Onam editions cost the same as the regular variant on which they are based.
Aesthetically, both variants get an all-black exterior finish with chrome bits, adding extra character to the design. Additional features offered on the models are front parking sensors, dual tone horn, puddle lamps, blacked 17-inch ‘Cassino’ alloys, and a TSI badge on the front fender. On the inside, it gets an all-black cabin highlighted by an 8-inch instrument panel, 10-inch infotainment touchscreen, ventilated front seats, automatic climate control, and a powered sunroof. VW offers the Taigun and Virtus Onam editions in a single 1.0-litre TSI turbo-petrol engine that makes 114 bhp of maximum power and 178 Nm of peak torque. The mill comes paired with a 6-speed manual and automatic transmission. The manual and AT variants of the Taigun Onam edition cost INR 14.08 lakh and INR 15.63 lakh (all prices ex-showroom India). The manual and automatic versions of Virtus carry price tags of INR 13.57 lakh and INR 14.82 lakh (all prices ex-showroom India).
