Toyota Yaris 2018 Starts Arriving at Dealerships Ahead of Launch; Price in India Likely to Start From Rs 8 Lakh - View Images

The mid-sized sedan segment has always been a lucrative one for the car makers. With products like Hyundai Verna, Honda City and Maruti Ciaz dominating the C2 segment, Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) is all set to launch its new Yaris sedan in the same space which was showcased at Auto Expo earlier this year. Ahead of its official launch, the new Yaris has started arriving at company showrooms as the sedan has been spied at stockyard. Talking about the specifications, the new Toyota Yaris 2018 will be available in 4 variants - J, G, V, and VX. Under the bonnet, the new sedan will be offered with single engine option – 1.5-liter Dual VVT-i engine. The motor will be tuned to make maximum power of 109 PS and 140 Nm of torque which will be mated to a 7-speed CVT gearbox or 6-speed manual unit.

Feature-wise, the new Yaris 2018 will be loaded with 7-airbags, ABS with EBD, Brake Assist, two front parking sensors, 4 rear parking sensors, reverse camera, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with navigation, all-wheel disc brakes, VSC, HAC, TPMS, Projector headlamps, 15-inch alloy wheels, 8-way power adjustable driver seat, adjustable rear center headrest, 60:40 split rear seats and others. Once launched, the new Toyota Yaris 2018 sedan will be pitted against the arch rivals such as Honda City, Hyundai Verna, Volkswagen Vento, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz and others in the C2 segment. As far as the prices are concerned, official pricing will be revealed once the sedan is launched in the country. We speculate that the car will be priced in the bracket of Rs 8 lakh to 12 lakh (ex-showroom) as it will be produced locally at TKM’s facility in Karnataka. Moreover, the company has not revealed any official launch date yet, but the sedan is speculated to be launched on May 18.
