Toyota has finally made the much awaited Toyota Glanza official for the Indian market, which is priced from Rs 7.22 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The premium car is the first product from the alliance of Toyota and Maruti. The company is expected to commence the deliveries for the Glanza hatchback starting next week onwards. Offered in 4 variants, the Glanza hatchback comes in two trim levels - G and V. Toyota Glanza Vs Maruti Baleno - Exterior: On the exterior front, both the cars are similar except that the fact that Glanza comes with a different grille upfront. Toyota Glanza and Maruti Baleno are essentially similar cars that are built on Suzuki’s new generation platform – Heartect. Both the cars are also identical on the inside with the same paint scheme.

The Baleno comes in 6 shades – Nexa Blue, Metallic Premium Silver, Pearl Phoenix Red, Metallic Magma Grey, Pearl Arctic White and Solid Fire Red. Toyota Glanza will be seen in 5 colour options – Café White, Sportin Red, Insta Blue, Gaming Grey and Enticing Silver.

The overall length and width of Glanza and Baleno remains the same at 3,995mm and 1,745mm respectively. On the other hand, the height of both the car remain at 1,510mm. Additionally, the wheelbase offered on Baleno and Glanza is also the same at 2,520mm.

Toyota Glanza Vs Maruti Baleno - Engine Specifications & Transmission: This is the department where Toyota Glanza is different from Maruti Baleno. The new hatch from Toyota is offered in petrol option only whereas Baleno is available in both petrol and diesel engines. The units offered on Glanza are 1.2-litre K12N (mild-hybrid) and 1.2-litre K12M engines wherein the former makes 90 hp and 83hp of power figures. On the other hand, Maruti Baleno comes with 1.2-litre K-Series petrol and 1.3-litre DDiS diesel making maximum power of 81hp and 74hp respectively. The smart hybrid version of Baleno is tuned to produce 88hp of power. Transmission duties are carried out by 5-speed manual and 7-step CVT on Toyota Glanza and Baleno.

Toyota Glanza Vs Maruti Baleno - Variants: The new Toyota Glanza car is offered in 2 trim levels (G & V) and 4 variants (G Hybrid, G 1.2 CVT, V 1.2 MT and V 1.2 CVT). Maruti Baleno, on the other hand, comes in 4 trim levels - Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha.

Toyota Glanza Vs Maruti Baleno - Features: Feature-wise, both the cars get similar features wherein Glanza gets 7-inch infotainment unit, which has been rebranded as Smart Playcast that is same as that of Maruti Baleno’s SmartPlay Studio. The cars also come with reverse parking camera, TFT MID display, speed sensing auto door lock, Engine push start/stop, smart entry, ABS with EBD, brake assist and more.

Toyota Glanza Vs Maruti Baleno – Prices: As far as the prices are concerned, the new Toyota Glanza is priced from Rs 7.22 lakh to Rs 8.9 lakh (All Prices Ex-showroom Delhi). The Maruti Suzuki Baleno retails at 5.5 lakh and the top-end model costs Rs 8.9 lakh (All Prices Ex-showroom Delhi).
