Tata Motors, the homegrown automaker on Friday officially announced that it has rolled out 1 lakh Nexon compact SUVs from its Ranjangaon facility. The car maker achieved this milestone in less than 22 month, since the SUV was launched in the country in 2017. Crowned as India's safest car, the compact SUV bagged 5-star rating at the Global NCAP crash test. As far as the sales are concerned, the car maker managed to scale new heights in the compact SUV space wherein the Nexon SUV became the second most popular selling compact SUV in last one year across India. The main underlines of Tata Nexon are coupe’ inspired design, premium three-tone interiors, several segment-first features, Floating Infotainment, 8 speakers and much more. The SUV is also offered in three driving modes - ECO, City and Sport.
The car maker offers Tata Nexon in both petrol and diesel versions. The petrol engine is a 1.2-litre turbocharged Revotron engine whereas the oil burner is a 1.5-litre turbocharged Revotorq unit. The petrol unit is capable of making 110PS @ 5000 rpm against 170Nm of torque @ 1750-4000 rpm. However, the diesel engine can make 110 PS @ 3750 rpm along with 260Nm @ 1500-2750 rpm. Transmission duties are carried out by 6-speed manual and 6-speed AMT unit.
Lastly, the Tata Nexon is available for sale with starting price of Rs 6.58 lakh (Ex-showroom Delhi) and Rs 7.59 lakh (Ex-showroom Delhi) for the XE petrol and XE diesel variants respectively. The top-end model - XZ+ with dual tone (petrol & diesel) are priced at Rs 9.44 lakh and Rs 10.29 lakh respectively.
