Royal Enfield, a Chennai-based two-wheeler manufacturing company will be launching the much-awaited Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650 motorcycles in the global market by next month. Both the motorcycles are highly-awaited in the market, which will mark Royal Enfield's official entry into the 650cc segment market. The bikes will be pitted against the products from Harley Davidson and Triumph in the middleweight motorcycle segment. The company had previously confirmed that 650 Twins would be launched in the global market first, followed by the Indian market. On that note, the Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650 motorcycles are speculated to be launched in India around the festive season. As a reminder, the company officially revealed 650 Twins at last year's EICMA in Milan followed by the Indian debut at Rider Mania 2017 in Goa. Based on the new platform, the motorcycles will also be powered by the all-new 649cc engine, which is company's first attempt with such kind of engine. The new unit is a 649cc parallel twin cylinder air cooled engine capable of generating 47 bhp of maximum power against the peak torque of 5200 rpm. The company has already released the first teaser of the Interceptor 650 motorcycle. And, the legendary motorcycle maker will be focusing its efforts on its newest models for the next couple of months. As far as the prices are concerned, the new motorcycles are expected to be priced in between Rs 3 lakh to 3.5 lakh (ex-showroom). Moreover, the company is also focusing on expanding its dealership hold in the country from 830 showrooms to around 875 showrooms by the end of the fiscal. The company also launched the new range of classic 350 motorcycles - Airborne Blue and Stormrider Sand in India.

Rudratej Singh said, "We are going to be doing a global launch media launch by mid to end September, and then we will follow that up with plans to launch in India. There will be an international launch first followed by India. The dates we will come back to you on, but definitely, in this fiscal year you will have the motorcycles - Interceptor and Continental GT riding around in India."
