Renault Triber Crossover MPV Officially Unveiled; Expected Price, Features & Specifications

Once launched, the new Renault Triber MPV will be pitted against the likes of Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, Datsun Go+. As far as the prices are concerned, the MPV is likely to be priced in the bracket of Rs 5 Lakh to Rs 7.5 lakh (ex-showroom).

Renault India has finally revealed the all-new product for the Indian market today at an event in Delhi. Christened as Triber, the crossover MPV is the second seven-seater offering from the French car maker after Renault Lodgy for the domestic market. Expected to be launched in India by second half of 2019, the Renault Triber is comparatively smaller in dimensions than Maruti Ertiga. The upcoming Triber MPV will be based on company’s popular CMF-A platform which also underpins Renault Kwid small car. On the exterior front, the newly revealed Renault Triber sub-4m MPV comes equipped with chrome-studded grille at the front along with projector headlamps, LED DRLs, roof rails and squared-off rear section. Dimensionally, the Crossover MPV measures 3990mm in length, 1739mm in width and 1643mm in height. The wheelbase of the MPV remains 2636mm whereas the ground clearance stands at 182mm.

Coming to the interior, the MPV gets a dual-tone paint scheme featuring 3.5-inch LCD screen instrument panel, 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The panel will be compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, navigation, USB and Bluetooth connectivity. Renault Triber will offer boot space of 625 litres. Moreover, the Renault Triber will also be offered with detachable third-row seat for optimising the cargo space. However, the third row seat will limit the boot capacity to just 320 litres.

Mechanically, the MPV will be powered by a 1.0-litre three cylinder petrol engine that will be tuned to make maximum power of 71hp with peak torque of 96Nm. The transmission duties will be carried out by manual as well as an AMT options. The company will also be introducing a turbocharged version of the car with 1.0-litre petrol engine to the line-up, however, that could be seen by mid-2020.
