Mumbai, September 21: German luxury automaker Mercedes-Benz will launch the new-generation E-Class Long Wheelbase (LWB) in India on October 9. It’s worth noting that the sedan in its long wheelbase guise made its domestic debut recently, and it will be officially launched in the country early next month. Ahead of its scheduled launch, Mercedes-Benz India has commenced bookings for the luxury sedan at authorised dealerships. Deliveries are expected to begin within weeks after launch. Design:
The new Mercedes-Benz E-Class LWB, in its sixth generation, sees several significant upgrades on the outside. The front looks very different from the predecessor, which is now in line with the modern Mercedes EQ lineup. It now gets a bigger chrome-finished S-Class-inspired grille housing an oversized company logo with a black panel across the edge, complemented by redesigned LED headlights. At the rear, the sedan gets new LED tail lamps with a tri-arrow design.
Variants:

Dimensions:
The new Mercedes-Benz E-Class LWB is said to be 13 mm taller and 14 mm longer. As the wheelbase has gone up by 15mm, the cabin is now more spacious and the boot space is bigger than the predecessor.
Interior:
On the inside, the flagship model is expected to be tech-rich and could feature the brand’s signature Superscreen, which includes a 14.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Mercedes' latest MBUX user interface, a 12.2-inch digital driver's display and an additional display for front co-passenger. The car is also expected to get Burmester's 4D surround sound system.
Features:
Feature-wise, the new E-Class LWB will come loaded with high-end features like an ottoman function, wireless charging, electric sun blinds, panoramic sunroof, 360-degree camera, four-zone climate, soft-close doors, advanced driver assistance features (ADAS) with Level-2 automation and much more. 2024 Tata Punch With New Premium Features Launched in India.
Engine and Transmission:
As mentioned above, the new-generation Mercedes-Benz E-Class LWB will come in petrol and diesel versions. The former is a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine, while the latter is a 2.0-litre oil burner wherein both get a 48V mild hybrid system for enhanced performance of 23 bhp and 205Nm of torque. Both powertrains come paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission.
