The re-introduction of Santro small car is just a day away! Hyundai India finally will be taking the wraps off the much awaited new 2018 Santro hatchback. The bookings for the iconic Santro are already underway as the South Korean automaker has started taking pre-bookings with upfront payment of Rs 11,100. To be positioned in between Hyundai Eon and Grand i10, the hatchback is expected to be offered in 5 trim levels - Dlite, Era, Magna, Sportz and Asta. Built on the new platform, the new Santro employs about 63% of Advanced High Strength Steel (AHSS) and High Strength Steel (HSS) that adds rigidness to the overall body. To be offered with a single powertrain option, the new Hyundai Santro 2018 will be powered by a 1.1-litre petrol mill. The engine will be tuned to produce maximum power of 69PS against peak torque of 99Nm. The unit will also be coupled with a 5-speed manual gearbox. The car maker is also believed to offer Santro with a 5-speed AMT and CNG options. However, the mentioned options will be offered on Magna and Sportz trims only. On the feature front, the new Santro 2018 will be equipped with several segment first features such as 7-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. Lastly, the prices of the new Santro are still kept under wraps, which will be revealed for the Indian audience tomorrow.
