Built on the new platform, the new Santro employs about 63% of Advanced High Strength Steel (AHSS) and High Strength Steel (HSS) that adds rigidness to the overall body. To be offered with a single powertrain option, the new Hyundai Santro 2018 will be powered by a 1.1-litre petrol mill. The engine will be tuned to produce maximum power of 69PS against peak torque of 99Nm. The unit will also be coupled with a 5-speed manual gearbox. The car maker is also believed to offer Santro with a 5-speed AMT and CNG options. However, the mentioned options will be offered on Magna and Sportz trims only. On the feature front, the new Santro 2018 will be equipped with several segment first features such as 7-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. The hatchback will also feature rear AC vents, reverse parking camera with sensors and much more. For safety, the hatchback will carry driver airbag and ABS with EBD as standard across the lineup. Lastly, the prices of the new Santro are still kept under wraps, which will be revealed for the Indian audience tomorrow.
