New 2018 Triumph Tiger 1200 XCx Launched; Priced in India at Rs 17 Lakh
Triumph has launched the new 2018 Tiger 1200 XCx Variant is India with a price tag of Rs. 17 lakh (ex-showroom India).
Triumph Motorcycles officially launched the next generation 2018 Tiger 1200 range in the country today. Currently launched as a single XCX variant, the fully updated Triumph Tiger 2018 motorcycle gets a price tag of Rs. 17 lakh (ex-showroom India). The company also claims that the new motorcycle is the most advanced Tiger ranger ever launched, as the first Triumph Tiger was introduced about 80 years ago. The new 2018 Tiger 1200 motorcycle sports about 100 updates over the previous model. Triumph initiated the pre-bookings for the motorcycle ahead of its launch with token amount of Rs. 2 lakh. The newly launched Tiger 1200 is claimed to be 11kg lighter than the outgoing model, however, the XCX variant is lighter by 5kg than before as it gets new chassis and exhaust. It also gets weight saving on the engine as well.
The new Tiger 1200 comes with updated electronics such as cornering ABS, traction control, Hill hold assist, ride-by-wire throttle and 6 riding modes, Inertial Measurement unit (IMU), electrically adjustable windscreen, optional heated grips & seats and much more. It also comes with features such as a 5-inch fully digital instrumentation console, LED lighting, adaptive cornering lights, backlit switchgear and cruise control along with keyless ignition.
Mechanically, the new Triumph Tiger 1200 comes fitted with the same 1,215 cc inline 3-cylinder engine which was also offered on the previous model. The motor is tuned to make 139 bhp of maximum power @ 9350 rpm with peak torque of 122Nm @ 7600 rpm. The engine also comes mated to a 6-speed manual transmission with a bi-directional quick-shifter. The suspension duties on the new Tiger 1200 are carried out by electronically adjustable WP upside down forks upfront with 190 mm travel and WP monoshock at the rear a travel of 193 mm. For braking, the motorcycle is fitted with dual 305 mm disc brakes with Brembo four-piston callipers and a single 282 mm disc at the rear with a Nissin two-piston calliper. The motorcycle will be pitted against the Ducati Multistrada 1200, upcoming Ducati Multistrada 1260 and BMW R 1200 GS.
