The car maker will be launching the MG Hector at an event in Gurugram, which scheduled to commence around 11.30 AM onwards and it will be streamed online through its official Facebook page and YouTube channel.

The new 2019 Hector SUV is the first product from the car maker that is owned by Chinese automaker SAIC Motor. Morris Garages will be making its India debut by revealing the prices of the premium SUV for the Indian market. The car maker will be launching the MG Hector at an event in Gurugram, which scheduled to commence around 11.30 AM onwards. The SUV is dubbed as the first mid-size SUV to feature internet connectivity and connected car technology, which will be seen in three engine options. The company initiated the pre-bookings for the SUV earlier this month with a token amount of Rs 50,000. MG Hector will be offering the SUV in 4 trim levels - Style, Super, Smart and Sharp. After the SUV is launched in the Indian market, it will be pitted against Hyundai Tucson and Jeep Compass in the mid-sized SUV segment.
Mechanically, the new MG Hector SUV will be seen in three powertrain options. The 1.5-litre petrol engine will be tuned to produce 143PS and 250Nm whereas the 2.0-litre diesel unit will make 170PS and 350Nm of power figures. Transmission duties will be carried out by 6-speed manual gearbox as standard and an optional dual-clutch transmission for petrol version. The SUV will also be seen in a mild-hybrid version which will be seen with a torque boost function, which will come mated to a manual 6-speed transmission.
The standard features offered on the premium SUV will include dual front airbags, antilock braking system (ABS), electronic brakeforce distribution (EBD), electronic stability control (ESC), hill-hold control, traction control and rear parking sensors as standard. On the other hand, the top-spec version of the SUV will get 6 airbags, 360 degree surround view camera, electrically powered tailgate, panoramic sunroof and more. Coming to the prices, the car maker will be eyeing a competitive prices for the Hector SUV. We speculate that the SUV will be priced in the bracket of Rs 12 lakh to Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom).
